About Us

In 1982 about 25 women who like to stitch got together one evening and decided to form a chapter of The Embroiderers' Guild of America. We meet once a month. We generally have a "show and tell" time so we can see what everyone is working on recently. Often the meetings are "hand on" stitching programs. You can learn the technique being taught or bring your own stitching and work on it. There is always time to visit and to share your interests with other stitchers. We have several special programs during the year including a birthday party for the chapter each January, a summer potluck get together at a member's home, and a holiday party.

The Embroiderers' Guild Of America is an international organization that promotes the study and practice of the art of needle work. The national organization is divided into 13 regions throughout the country. Each region provides support and educational opportunities for its chapters. Our chapter is part of the Greater Pacific Region (GPR), which covers Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, and British Columbia. GPR conducts meetings three times a year in Concord, California to discuss business matters and educational opportunities, and to promote face-to-face contact with others throughout the region. There is also a region newsletter published three times a year that is availble free via email to any EGA member.
